It's awfully convenient for Big Food to craft a pro-health, eco-conscious narrative around its highly profitable unsustainable products.
Don't be fooled though. These companies don't care about your health or this planet in the slightest.
Unfortunately they've got a great grassroots marketing militia that is deadset on convincing you they do.
Whether it's the latest "plant-based" imitation meat or a clump of cells grown in a bioreactor, these so-called "foods" need nutritional inputs from somewhere.
Enter, industrial monocultures-swaths of row crops grown at scale using heavy machinery & toxic chemicals, with little regard for soil organic matter, ecosystem biodiversity, worker welfare, or human health-the perfect means to maximize profit and minimize cost, and the main unlisted ingredient in just about every packaged product in the grocery store.
We consumers should help show the market that we value higher quality products that are only Nutrient Dense foods please!
