*$236k lost by 45 job scam victims within one week in May*

There is a recent uptrend in job scams disguised as "affiliate marketing" to boost sales on Shopee and Lazada.

Victims accepted a “job offer” and were told to add a low-priced item into their Shopee or Lazada cart, and make payment *directly to the scammer's bank account without checking out the cart*. Thereafter, the scammer would refund the money with commission to bait for pricier and pricer transactions, until the scammer suddenly disappeared with the money.

Beware of transactional deals that require you to put up money *upfront for commissions*
