TWO WAYS WE RECEIVE GOD’S ANOINTING:
1. Visitation from God
• God supernaturally encountered Moses (Exodus 3)
• God visited Samuel (1 Samuel 3:1)
2. Impartation from men of God
• Moses laid hands on Joshua (Numbers 27:18; Deuteronomy 34:9)
• Samuel anointed Saul and David (1 Samuel 10:1; 16:14)
FIVE POINTS OF GOD’S ANOINTING:
1.
The Foundation
• 2 Timothy 1:5 When I call to remembrance the genuine faith that is in you, which dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I am persuaded is in you also.
2.
The Impartation
• 1 Timothy 4:14 Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the eldership.
• Imitation comes when I observe, impartation comes when I serve!
3.
The Intimidation
• 2 Timothy 1:6-7 Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
4.
The Association
• 2 Timothy 1:8 Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner, but share with me in the sufferings for the gospel according to the power of God,
• It’s said of apostles, “They have been with Jesus” Acts 4:13
• Your spiritual diet and discipline are vital to development.
5.
The Demonstration • Mark 13:11 But whatever is given you in that hour, speak that; for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit.
• God’s anointing starts with deposit, discovery, and development but it must lead to deployment.
