we’ve reached the edge of the cutting party.
this is the edge where you hate me—
—and where I hate you
—and where we glare at each other across our own little capsules of time,
one half of each memory just out of the others sight,
one half of each heart just out of the others reach,
and I say,
in all my misguided sense of good intention,
that I love you in that special little way that darkness loves the moon,
only ever yearning for your presence,
when I just want to consume.
