Energy doesn't disappear, it just switches places. The chemical potential energy in a full phone battery is transformed into electrical energy for your phone, which is turned into heat and light for display, which is why you can read this on your screen! The energy itself never disappears. That doesn't stop your battery needing a recharge though.
