Moderna Files Covid Jab Patent Lawsuits Against Pfizer & BioNTech
US Big Pharma giant Moderna has filed lawsuits against leading vaccine competitors Pfizer and BioNTech citing violations of its Covid vaccine production patent rights.
Moderna had waived patent disputes in the early stages of the pandemic to help others roll out vaccines, but in March this year stated they expected Pfizer and BioNTech to respect its intellectual property rights.
The lawsuit claims the two rivals have copied their mRNA technology that was developed years before the pandemic began, and infringed on the coding for a full-length spike protein Moderna says it developed.
