China’s Shenzhen Shuts World’s Largest Electronics Market To Fight Covid Outbreak
Authorities in the Chinese city of Shenzhen reacted to the latest Covid outbreak of nine symptomatic cases by slamming shut the world’s largest electronics market and suspending service at 24 subway stations on Monday.
Three key buildings at the Huaqiangbei market where microchips and other components are traded will stay shut along with public spaces such as cinemas, karaoke bars, and parks until September 2.
Across the entire country 352 symptomatic cases were detected on Sunday, as well as a further 1,344 asymptomatic cases.
