This is how clinicians use the McRoberts maneuver to release a baby shoulder from impingement on the mother's pubic symphysis during birth. The mother's legs are flexed towards her shoulders as she lays on her back to expand pelvic outlet. A ghosted view of the mother's pelvis shows the baby's shoulder releasing from pubis symphysis.
