The most expensive mosque?
The construction of the white temple, nicknamed the Great Mosque by the locals, began in the late 1990s. The construction of the most grandiose shrine became a symbol of the "unification of the world": the talent of the best craftsmen and materials from such countries as Italy, Germany, Morocco, India, Turkey, Iran, China and Greece were used in the construction. More than 3,000 workers and 38 organizations took part. The complex occupies 22,412 sq. m., which is equivalent in area to five football fields, and can accommodate up to 40,960 believers.
