I know this is a GoT subreddit, but let’s tip our hats to the OG creators of subverting expectations. Before there was D&D, there was C&C: Carter Bays and Craig Thomas, who were in charge of the universally adored finale of How I Met Your Mother! I have no doubt they were a huge inspiration for D&D.
