Europe is facing a large influx of migrantsThe number of requests to open more Asylums in the EU has risen. The reason it's increasing is due to the 2015-2016 migrant crisis. In 2023, 1.14 million asylum applications were recorded, which is higher by 18% than in the previous year and seven-year high.
Syrian, Turkish, Afghan and Palestinian nationals apply for the asylum the most out of all immigrants. The new data may cause political tension over migration and the EU's liberal refugee acceptance policies.
