Oppenheimer has won seven awards at the Oscars

Christopher Nolan's biographical blockbuster Oppenheimer triumphed at this year's Oscars, winning seven awards including Best Picture, Best Actor and Best Director.

The drama, which tells the story of the "father of the atomic bomb," lost the box office battle to Barbie but has now won the awards war, with Greta Gerwig's comedy " Mattel" winning just one Oscar for Best Original Song.

Nolan won his first Oscar for Best Director after previously being nominated for "Dunkirk," beating out Martin Scorsese and Jonathan Glazer. Speaking about the movie in his speech, he said: "We don't know where this incredible journey will lead, but to know that you consider me a significant part of it means a lot to me".
The movie also won for editing, camerawork and score.

Oppenheimer became the highest-grossing Best Picture winner since "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King" in 2004. It is also the first movie to win the Best Supporting Actor award since "Ben Hur" in 1960.
