Ghost Cruise, Yay or Nay?

A review on cruising during CB2.0

Some of you here might be thinking about booking a cruise and some of you might have even booked but thinking about cancelling.

Hopefully by me sharing here, you can gain some insights.

On 17/5 I boarded Royal Caribbean’s Quantum of the Seas, this came after the announcement of “heightened alert”

The new restrictions
1. In-room dining only
2. Speciality restaurants closed
3. Only groups of 2
4. Indoor capacity reduced to 50 pax i.e. Theatre, casino
5. Overall ship capacity reduced to 25%

The Experience
If you are looking for chill vibes like a private cruise all for yourselves then this is a great time to go on a cruise. This is my first time on a cruise but I really enjoyed it. Although they say it’s 25% but I’m pretty sure it was only around 15% then. This means almost no queues for activities. Classes, gameshows and performances are quite easy to book. No competition for spaces in the pool and jacuzzi as well!

A bummer would be the speciality restaurants because that was one thing that I was looking forward to after the reviews my friends gave. Social distancing everywhere also made the atmosphere around the shows a bit less hyped.

Nonetheless, the crew and staff did their best to try and give us the best experience possible (No free room upgrades if you’re wondering).

Overall still a good experience for those who are looking for a short getaway with your partner or loved one, a lot of time and activities to do together. If you are planning to get high and wasted with friends, then maybe not so much because you can only hang out in twos. If you got more questions that might make or break your upcoming cruise plans, come ask me!
