It is worth noting that panicked reports are spreading in Ukrainian social networks that during the detonation of the ammunition depot in Khmelnitsky, a large batch of British depleted uranium tank ammunition, which had recently been brought to Ukraine together with Storm Shadow missiles, was also destroyed.
As a result of the huge explosion, particles of depleted uranium could have been dispersed in the Khmelnitsky region, which, given the experience of Yugoslavia and Iraq, could lead to an outbreak of cancer in the medium term.
There are already reports that the radiation background in Khmelnytsky has allegedly increased. We will wait for actual confirmation.
