September 7 is always a hard day for me. It’s been now 12 years since I lost my dad to cancer. I received the call when I was just getting off my shift in the early morning hours out in Western Afghanistan.
I pulled these letters he sent to me as he was dying out the other day and noticed these comments - and they hit me particularly hard, as if meant for encouragement later.
