Seven Persons – P, Q, R, S, T, U, and V – live on separate floors of a seven-storied building, but not in the same order. The ground floor of the building is numbered 1, the floor above it 2 and so on until the topmost floor is numbered 7. Each person likes different colours – Blue, Black, White, Red, Pink, Purple, Grey, but not necessarily in the same order.
The person who likes Red lives on floor numbered four. P does not live on the lowermost floor. P lives on any odd numbered floor below the one who likes Red.

Only two persons live between P and the person who likes Grey. Only one person lives between Q and U. U lives on an even numbered floor and does not like Red.

Only three persons live between the persons who like Blue and White respectively. The person who likes Blue lives on any floor above the Q’s floor. The person who likes Blue does not live on the topmost floor. V lives on an even numbered floor but neither immediately above nor immediately below the floor of P. R does not like Blue and White. Only two persons live between S and the one who likes Red. The person who likes Pink lives on the floor immediately above the floor of the person who likes Purple.

सात व्यक्ति – P, Q, R, S,T, U और V – एक सात मंजिला इमारत की अलग-अलग मंजिलों पर रहते हैं, लेकिन इसी क्रम में नहीं. इमारत के भू-तल को 1, इसके ऊपर की मंजिल को 2 और इसी प्रकार शीर्ष मंजिल को 7 से संख्यांकित किया गया है. प्रत्येक व्यक्ति को विभिन्न रंग पसंद हैं - नीला, काला, सफेद, लाल, गुलाबी, बैंगनी, ग्रे, लेकिन जरूरी नहीं इसी क्रम में.

जिस व्यक्ति को लाल पसंद है वह चार संख्या की मंजिल पर रहता है. P सबसे नीचे वाली मंजिल पर नहीं रहता है. P लाल रंग को पसंद करने वाले व्यक्ति के नीचे किसी विषम संख्या वाली मंजिल पर रहता है.
P और ग्रे पसंद करने वाले व्यक्ति के मध्य केवल दो व्यक्ति रहते हैं. Q और U के मध्य केवल एक व्यक्ति रहता है, U एक सम संख्या की मंजिल पर रहता है और लाल पसंद नहीं करता है.

क्रमश: नीला और सफ़ेद को पसंद करने वालों के मध्य केवल तीन व्यक्ति रहते हैं. जिसे नीला पसंद है वह Q की मंजिल के ऊपर किसी मंजिल पर रहता है. जिसे नीला पसंद है वह शीर्ष मंजिल पर नहीं रहता है. V एक सम संख्या के मंजिल पर रहता है लेकिन P के न तो ठीक ऊपर और न ही ठीक नीचे रहता है. R को नीला और सफेद पसंद नहीं है. S और लाल पसंद करने वाले व्यक्ति के मध्य केवल दो व्यक्ति रहते हैं. जिसे गुलाबी पसंद है वह उस मंजिल के ठीक ऊपर रहता है जिस मंजिल पर बैंगनी पसंद करने वाला रहता है.
