From today, I will be writing posts about frequently held misconceptions regarding the writing section.
"Use 'high-level, band 9.0, academic' words."This is probably the
worst advice given to students.
First off, there is no such thing as a "
band 9.0, high-level word". Academic words do exist, but simply because you take the "academic" module of IELTS doesn't mean that you have to use "academic" words in writing and speaking...
