According to official data, the UK economy expanded by 4.8 percent between April and June, as most firms resumed operations. Retail, restaurants, and hotels all contributed to the increase in GDP, according to data from the Office for National Statistics. As schools resumed in the second quarter, education benefited the economy as well.
Non-essential shops, as well as gyms, hairdressers, and outdoor eating, reopened in April. Pubs, restaurants, and cafés were permitted to serve clients indoors beginning in May, while theatres, galleries, and theaters were permitted to open their doors.
Consumer expenditure, which increased by 7.3 percent in the third quarter, above forecasts, was the major engine of growth.
In 2020, the UK was the quickest decrease of the G7 nations, but in 2021, if limitations are lifted, it may be one of the fastest recovering of the large participants.
