NBC News Chief Leaving Network
NBC News president Noah Oppenheim is departing his role.
Oppenheim is leaving his post after six years in the top job, though he won’t be going far: he has struck a production deal with NBCUniversal. The reorganization comes during a fraught time for the NBC newsroom, which is bracing for widespread layoffs.
He will be replaced by Rebecca Blumenstein, who will take over as president.
Blumenstein is a deputy managing editor at The New York Times.
Blumenstein said that “the news landscape is rapidly evolving, with mediums converging at a rate our industry has never seen."
