NY issuing first licenses for local marijuana production

Fifty-two local farmers are to be awarded the state's first-ever licenses to grow marijuana for adult recreational use.

The “cultivators” will provide the first products to be sold at legal cannabis retail stores later this year, according to the board.

In preparation for the sales, the NY state has already launched “Cannabis Conversation” PSAs on topics like not driving while high or keeping weed away from kids.

Germany’s Chancellor Accused of Dragging Feet to Supply Ukraine With Weapons Amid Energy Concerns

Olaf Scholz has been accused of slow-walking weapon supplies to Ukraine due to the country’s reliance on Russian energy.

While Scholz has pushed back against the criticism and vowed to support Ukraine’s military, pressure is growing. 55% of Germans in a recent poll support sending heavy weapons to Ukraine.

Scholz has also avoided a clear answer to if Germany would send any battle tanks or warplanes out of its own military supply stocks anytime soon.

Former Coca-Cola manager sentenced for $1.5mn bribery scheme

Noel Corry pleaded guilty to five counts of corruption during the period 2004-2013, for leaking confidential info and helping to win contracts in exchange for large sums of money.

It wasn’t just money he received - for his “services” Corry was given free tickets to sports and entertainment events, and even sponsorship money for his local football team.

Despite his numerous bouts of criminality, a London court gave Corry a SUSPENDED jail term of just 20 months – hardly ‘the real thing.’

Queen of England Won’t Attend Easter Sunday Service for First Time in Over 50 Years

Elizabeth II will not attend the service as she is reportedly experiencing mobility issues and is living full-time at Windsor Castle.

Prince Charles and wife Camilla represented her Thursday at the Royal Maundy service, but will also be away for Easter.

It’s believed that this is the first time the Queen has missed an Easter Sunday service since 1970, when she was traveling New Zealand and Australia.

EU warns members paying Russia for gas in roubles “breaks sanctions”

The European Commission is worried a decree issued by Vladimir Putin could hand Russia “total control.”

In response to sanctions and freezing of Russian assets, Moscow demanded all payments for gas from “unfriendly countries” to be made in roubles instead of euro or dollars.

Russia has warned nations who don’t comply will have their gas supplies halted – which could lead to rationing in Germany and France, countries with no reasonable alternative.

To break, or not?

Alleged plot to KIDNAP German health minister and attack energy grid foiled – four arrested

German police have arrested four people suspected of involvement in plans to abduct the health minister and carry out bomb attacks. Authorities say the group aimed to create "a civil war-like" situation in the country.

A number of weapons, including a Kalashnikov rifle, ammunition, cash and gold and silver ingots were confiscated during nationwide raids Wednesday, police said.

Health minister Karl Lauterbach claimed “highly dangerous” forces were at play in Germany - using protests over Covid-19 restrictions to destabilize the state and the country’s democratic system.

Are they going to declare Covid protesters enemies of the state now?

El Shafee Elsheikh, a member of the infamous ‘Jihadi Beatles,’ who assisted in the kidnap and murder of four American citizens has been convicted on eight counts of hostage-taking and murder in Virginia.

Elsheikh, 33, was a member of the ISIS beheading squad that released gruesome propaganda videos featuring ‘Jihadi John,’ the group’s leader, torturing and slowly decapitating Western victims.

Surviving hostages testified that the ‘Beatles’ delighted themselves rewriting "Hotel California" as "Hotel Osama" and making them sing the refrain "You will never leave."
