These are following highlighted in-game events:

#FieldArt Challenge, July 23 to Aug 2:
2X AP for Link & Fields
2X SoftBank Ultra Link drop rate
Higher key drop rate through More Glyph command
Hack, Glyph or not, guarantees first key drop
Option to purchase a 6th Key Locker

Level 8 Weekend, Aug 6 to Aug 9:
2X AP everything!
2X deploy L8 Resonators
Drone cooldown 8 mins
88 AP for each successful Glyph
Level 8 themed medal in Ingress Store

#MeetYouOutThere Challenge, Aug 20 to Aug 30:
Earn Bronze, Silver, or Gold Medal based on AP
New event metric “Event AP Gained” added to Agent Profile
888 AP for each Unique Portal Visits

Optima Kinetic Challenge II, Sep 17 to Sep 27:
Retain previous Optima Kinetic Challenge progress (Forgot it? Check out your The Grid)
Earn Bronze, Silver, or Gold medal with 4, 16 and 50 completed Kinetic Capsules
All Programs will reduce to 2km from 8km
New Program for the Challenge.
