RGNN has learned Niantic is planning to introduce Niantic Chat across the portfolio of its games.
According to Niantic, it will be:
No need third-party messengers (available inside the game)
If you are traveling, you do not need to search for local chats, just open the world map, find a city and see chats for all Niantic games
You will be able to see the movement of the chat participants on the map in real time (useful for example, for collecting raids)
Visible in which game and how long ago the chat participant entered
Can create countdown ads that will be visible to everyone on the map
You can create a private chat where you can invite only players from your friends list or share the code to join the chat with the players
Currently it is being tested in CATAN: World Explorers, but they’ll be in other game soon, including Ingress.
