A channel that opens with AI-generated reimaginings of Renaissance masters — Hieronymus Bosch's "Bitcoin" (1501) and Salvador Dali's "Apparition of a Blockchain" (1963) — tells you something important right away: this isn't your typical crypto price-alert feed. Sasha WAVES operates in a different register, somewhere between cultural commentary and technical provocation.
The channel belongs to Sasha, a writer and thinker whose Medium articles form the backbone of the content. Pieces like "Web3 is Impossible" and "Decentralized Future of Artificial Intelligence" suggest someone willing to take contrarian positions rather than simply cheerleading the industry. The description — "I, for one, welcome our new AI overlords!" — reads as ironic self-awareness, the kind of tone that signals the author knows the game being played and chooses to wink at it rather than pretend otherwise.
The posting frequency is the channel's most glaring weakness. In roughly eighteen months of existence, there are fewer than ten visible posts. We're talking about gaps measured not in days but in months — sometimes nearly a full year. For a channel sitting at over 1.2 million subscribers, that discrepancy between audience size and output volume is striking and a little baffling. Either the growth happened through some earlier burst of activity not reflected here, or the subscriber count carries significant dead weight accumulated over time.
What content does exist points toward a genuinely interesting editorial sensibility. The mix includes Substack links, Medium essays, a YouTube Short, and external Twitter threads — a scattered but intellectually curious curation. The themes orbit the intersection of AI, blockchain governance, and decentralization philosophy. A recent link to a piece on "Power 2.0" and next-generation community governance suggests the channel is tracking the more serious governance debates happening in Web3, not just token speculation.
The honest assessment: Sasha WAVES has the intellectual DNA of something worth following — a thoughtful, somewhat skeptical voice navigating crypto and AI with more nuance than most channels in this space. But the near-total absence of consistent publishing makes it unreliable as a daily or even weekly information source. You might subscribe and go weeks without a single post.
This channel is best suited for readers who enjoy long-form thinking about the philosophical and structural questions behind decentralization and AI, and who don't mind a slow drip of content. If you want market signals, trading calls, or daily news — look elsewhere. If you want occasional, thoughtful provocation from someone who quotes Bosch and Dali in the same breath as Bitcoin, the subscription costs you nothing but a slot in your feed.
