Pelosi has no authority to make this commitment. Literally no authority. If she’s to be taken seriously, she’s committing the West, not only the USA, to open-ended warfare.
First, perhaps it’s a feint. Something to give Putin pause for thought. Perhaps. There are other ways to do that with lesser risks.
We don’t know what has motivated the invasion. I don’t claim to know. I’m darned sure that TV cable news doesn’t know, either. Let’s accept some humility here. Only Russia & Putin knows what motivates him now. Equally, we’re in the dark about what is really behind Biden & his handlers actions.
I point out that “defending democracy & legitimate borders” is an inadequate explanation. You only need to look at what the administration is doing in numerous other locations where border integrity is an issue, at home & abroad, to have to accept its at best a partial explanation, not the deep driver.
