I think what Zelenko is saying is correct: everything that is happening is the result of a hyper-materialistic view of existence, which sees life as finite to individualistic and atomised biological existence. It is the result of Nietzsche's observational declaration of the death God in society.

It matters not what people's relation to the word or idea of God is, what matters is that if the oligarchs see themselves as Gods, they will act as pagan Gods, deciding who lives and who dies, like a Roman Emperor-God doing thumbs up or down to who lives and who dies. It just so happens that the oligarch-"Gods" have done a big thumbs down to billions of us.

This of course is a perversion of humanism into paganism, which is the dominant belief system of the oligarchy, their real faith, dressed up as "science".
