Valentina Matvienko: “Women can make a significant contribution to ensuring a secure future in the post COVID-19 world”.
Chairwoman of the Federation Council held a meeting of the Organizing Committee of the III Eurasian Women's Forum (October 13-15, 2021, St. Petersburg).

The main topic of the III Eurasian Women's Forum is “Women: Global Mission in a New Reality”.

Matvienko noted that the Eurasian Women's Forum has already become one of the most authoritative platforms for an open, substantive dialogue on the development of the women's movement.
Today, women have an impressive political weight and can significantly soften the world political rhetoric, push towards a peaceful settlement of differences, towards the solution of global geopolitical issues in a civilized way.

The architecture of the Forum programme unites 5 thematic platforms:
mission of women in
— shaping a new agenda of peace and trust;
— maintaining health;
— economic development and digitalization;
— preserving the planet;
— implementation of social transformations.

In total, more than 300 events will be held under the auspices of the Forum. Taking into account the wide request of the regions for participation in the Forum, it was decided to hold the Russian Regional Week as well.

Alexander Stuglev, Chairman of the Board, CEO of the Roscongress Foundation, commented:
“We are working on a set of solutions taking into account the current restrictions and hope to hold the Forum in person and online. It is already known that PCR testing of participants will be carried out. All this has been worked out at the SPIEF”.
