Augustin Martinez, Jorge Diaz and Antonio Mercero had created a pseudonym they styled as a married professor and mother whose key character Elena Blanco is a “peculiar” female detective who enjoys “sex in SUVs” among other interests.
Feminist writer Beatriz Gimeno slated the three men for the “fake profile they’ve used to take in readers and journalists” by creating a contrast between the “savage and macabre violence” of the novels and the respectable family persona of Mola.
