$3mn/yr football coach SACKED for refusing vaccine - after last-minute religious exemption was denied
Washington State University’s Catholic-raised head football coach Nick Rolovich has been relieved of his duties for rejecting the vaccine mandate, despite previously flip-flopping to say he would get jabbed.
Rolovich filed a religious exemption on Saturday - 2 days ahead of the state deadline - but was denied, even though the mandate does allow for exceptions on religious and medical grounds.
WSU President Kirk Schulz admitted “it certainly skews the perception of our message” when their high-profile coach refused the jab. “It doesn't help when you have people who are contrary to the direction we're going.”
