Facebook warns LAPD to stop SNOOPING on users through FAKE accounts
Facebook has written to the LAPD demanding their officers stop setting up fake accounts to spy on people after documents revealed the force encourages the method of “online investigative activity.”
Australian lawful surveillance expert Robert Potter claimed it was the pot calling the kettle black, given the platform’s lack of urgency over policing political ads and effects on children.
"You're not special if you run a social media platform,” he said. “If there's not a rule saying you can't have an undercover cop in a church, why should a social media platform be any different?"
