Tory Chair QUITS After Party Wiped Out in TWO By-elections
UK PM Boris Johnson vowed to plow on despite two “tough” by-election defeats - caused by disgraced Tory MPs quitting - sparking the resignation of the Conservative party chairman.
In his resignation letter, Oliver Dowden told Johnson Tory supporters are “distressed and disappointed by recent events” and that “we cannot carry on with business as usual. Somebody must take responsibility”.
Speaking 4,000 miles away in Rwanda at a Commonwealth summit, Johnson insisted he would “listen to the voters”, but that it would be “crazy” for him to quit.
