One of the most memorable discussions I've ever had with a Ukrainian nationalist occurred sometime around 2015, back when I still sometimes engaged these people. He was telling me that the May 2nd Odessa massacre was “the separatists' own fault” and, more importantly, that “you would've done the same”. That was really an eye-opening moment for me — this creature just sits there, slurping on a charred baby, explaining how, you know, they were playing soccer, and the ball landed in my backyard, so I killed & ate them, that's just a normal reaction, and everyone would've done the same, come on, don't pretend you're better than me. They sincerely don't understand “what the problem is”. And when you hit them in the face, they run crying to The Hague, still chewing on a child's bone. It's just impossible to talk to these people. All dialogue should be conducted via 152mm.
