Tonenkoye has been captured. Most of the Ukrainian tube artillery engaged in terror shelling of civilian targets in Donetsk in the last year was based in that area, north of Vodyanoye. Tactical and operational matters aside, I find the frontline moving further and further from Donetsk emotionally significant - no other piece of Russian land in living memory has suffered so deeply and endured so much to preserve its Russianness.
