'What do you want?' She sighed at the sight of the tall man, | Sam Scribbles

"What do you want?"

She sighed at the sight of the tall man, turning her face away from him again. She tried to stay firm, but the sound of his steps closing the distance between them immediately tensed her up, his lips shifted from a wicked grin into a reply,

"Don't act like you're done with it, that won't stop me."

Every time she thought she could face him, every time she thought she could stand her ground in front of him. And every time, as soon as he spoke, she felt like a little bird facing a mighty beast, only she had no wings to fly off with.

She bit her lips inwardly, crippling fear twisted her stomach around as he leaned into her. And yet, with a softened tired look in her eyes, she raised a hand -though stiff- towards his face.

The moment her fingertips touched the ice of his cheeks, his menacing smirk dropped at once. Next thing she knew, she was pinned against the wall. Her eyes immediately shut, the fear that was already overwhelming became unbearable. It was as if the only thing she could expect next was a stab to her heart followed by pure nothingness.

He squeezed the hand she tried to use earlier, closing onto her ear with his mouth. He poured his hoarse words like droplets of fire into it,

"You know what I hate the most?" From the corner of his slint eye, he watched the pain freeze in her face for a moment, "I hate liars, liars such as yourself."

A small smile crept onto his lips as he went on, "See, your pain is way more honest, it shouldn't be romanced. Those were your words, weren't they? Little fake witch, hmm?"

No answer, not even a breath left her chest, not until he let her go. She dropped like an old cloth to the floor, hatched breaths raced out, along with some tears. He bent down to her, holding her chin and tilting it upwards to face him,

"Now come, we have places to be."
