Workers removed the asphalt, and beneath it was a brick vault. They broke through it and saw long tunnels! Archeologists, as usual, offered a logical explanation: there were underground cellars for storing goods and supplies.
But it was not that simple. Collapses appeared more often, and it turned out that under Murom a whole network of passages and halls with vaulted ceilings, and under the ground there is a transition to the other bank of the Oka!
Under the Annunciation Monastery and was a network of rooms in the form of regular hexagons, becoming ramified labyrinth. The version with food cellars failed. The city administration admits that there are no plans for the dungeons, nor any mention of such passages in history.
