The Independent Singapore (TISG) pofma-ed over deceptive clickbait article on K ShanmugamTISG had published an article with a deceptive clickbait headline - “K Shanmugam says he may step down as Singapore’s Minister of Law and Home Affairs”. The falsity was repeated in the first paragraph of the article which stated that the Minister “revealed” in an interview with Vanakkam Malaysia that he may step down as Singapore’s Minister for Law and Home Affairs, but gave no specific time as to when he might do so.
As required by the Correction Directions under the Protection from Online Falsehoods and Manipulation Act (POFMA), TISG and Mr Toh Han Shih, the author of the article, must publish a correction notice alongside the posts.
