Key words in GS mains answer writing
Generally I used to divide 10 marks question into 2 parts and 15 marks question into 3 parts. How to address the question and the way to attempt the question also depends upon the key words (Define, Analyse, Comment). I am sending the meaning of each key words- it should be kept at back of mind while attempting the questions
If one is being confused with the key word then generally follow this
1) Write pros and cons (and then conclusion having positive outlook)
2) In 15 marks- write pros, cons and then way forward (Way forward is different from conclusion)
3) In Examine and Analyse- give solutions separately
4) In Critically - Highlight other side EQUALLY
5) In Illustrate/Elucidate- Give Examples
Generally your answer should reflect
1) balance approach- not neglecting the other side 2) should have examples and 3) Having a solution/way forward
