Someone asked this question in comment section. I’m sharing my views on these questions, people can have their own strategy

‘Sir we are almost entering into the last 180 days before prelims. Following questions are as per a student giving 1st attempt, it may be subjective but what can be the ideal answer according to ur wisdom’

1. When should I start solving prelims mock test?

From now on, weekly one can solve prelims mock papers (1test per week). The frequency of tests will increase from Feb/March

2. When should I completely focus on prelims

From mid February

3. How many days before prelims we can continue to write answers

Till January end or mid February

4. When should I stop reading mains only portions (GS 4, optional etc)

Till January End

5. What should be ratio of daily time 1 should devote for Revision, Mock test n CA respectively when he starts solving mocks

On the day of mock test- I used to devote 2hrs for test, 4-5hrs on test analysis initially and later 2-3 hrs. Rest of the time revision.

In CSE 2019 attempt, I used to read static and CAs both in single day. In CSE 2020 attempt, I used to devote entire day either for static or CAs.

You can choose any strategy. Also how much time to devote for static and current depends upon your preparation. Based upon the time available- first decide the sources that you are going to refer. And then accordingly devote time. Same is true for revision.

Generally speaking static and current should follow minimum 60:40 ration (60% time to static). One should give priority to those static portions which are in news. So boundary between static and current merges !!
