Well, first thing first, they have a common goal – attract the right people and move them down the marketing funnel to a point where they make a purchase.

But there are also many differences as well.

1. The purpose of copywriting is to convince a reader to buy your product
2. The purpose of content writing is to convince a reader of your argument
3. Copy is more straightforward and salesy
4. Content doesn't sell
5. Content writers are usually hired to drive organic traffic
6. Copywriters are usually hired to write website copy
