It seems to me that the public is being prepared for what is to come by a controlled shift of public perception, globally. The public perception should be well marinated by now due to everything that has happened during the past year.
It is important to remember that COVID affected basically every country in the world. When populations in other countries understand that the US media is corrupt, they will naturally begin to question all media establishments.
