The more you study Hindu nationalism, the more you will see its parrarells with Jewish nationalism. Both are set to be revival of ancient civilizations and both fantasise their past. Fantasised past is core to nationalism.
Both were ruled over, whether its Jews who for thousand of years lived under Christians and Muslims, or Hindus who also for centuries were ruled by Muslims and later British. And both have a sense of vengeance for those who "destroyed" their civilization and enslaved them.
Jews and Hindus finally freed themself and established their own state, in the same era. And even tho it took some time for Hindu nationalism to be fully accepted (because of secular/liberal India and diversity in population), RSS finally achieved it. They spread Hindu nationalism successfully amongst the masses. A lot anti Muslim aspects of this ideology were a barrier before, as Muslims were an important part of Indian culture. But the revival of Islam in a form of jihad was also happening at the same time, (how interesting huh?) which speeded up the process and made it easy for the other side or all other sides. Post 9/11 War of terror made it easier for Hinduvtas to convince the masses of why Muslims are a threat to Hindus. Another attractive core to nationalism is of course fear. Fear of something, someone. Jewish nationalism also thrives because of fear, the fear of "Israel being wiped off the map" and the common fear for both Hindu and Jewish nationalism is Islam. (Although Jews also consider Europe to be a barrier).
We are living in a historical time, both of these Ideologies who are resentful to Muslims or to their old rulers are successfully revived, and both are currently fighting the same enemy. This will no doubt lead to a major war, or generational wars. This ideological hatred doesn't just sit around and wait, it acts.
