Yesterday people had their accounts disabled for changing anything on their profiles, this is because of a bug in the desktop and mobile Discord clients that sends 100+ requests a second to the API when you do that, thus making Discord mark you as spam. Accounts are being unbanned as of this writing, but the client has yet to receive an update so I'd suggest avoiding changes to your account for a while. Anyone can be nominated by anyone for anything, the submission itself isn't to be used as proof of anything.
