Today marks the start of #16Days of gender-based activism – a global, UN accredited movement designed to champion women’s rights and spotlight the endemic issue of violence against women.
This year, the continued challenges of COVID-19 have reinforced perceived vulnerabilities among women – with increased unemployment, poverty and social isolation making them more susceptible to traffickers. The most marginalised women are at the greatest risk, and face further barriers in accessing services and justice.
