CH-46 Sea Knight after being hit by enemy ground fire during Operation Hastings, July 15, 1966.
During the landing of a response company to guard three CH-46s at Raven's Landing Point , an EP-171 HMM-265 piloted by Capt. T.C. McAllister and Sgt. R. R. Telfer came under heavy machine gun fire and while attempting to land the helicopter as the cockpit was heavily smoky missed the pad and collapsed on the battalion's CP...13 Marines were killed and 3 others were wounded.
