Valneva said on Thursday that Phase 1/2 trials showed that the booster shot of its COVID-19 vaccine candidate VLA2001 "significantly boosted immunity" in trial participants who received its jab as their first two doses.

The company noted that patients that received the booster shot seven to eight months after their second dose had four times higher antibody titers two weeks after receiving the third dose compared to two weeks after primary vaccination.
