The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in the Eurozone (EA19) stood at 7.6% in July, declining 0.2 percentage points compared to the month prior, according to Eurostat's report released on Wednesday. Year-over-year, the figure decreased by 0.8 percentage points.
In the entire European Union (EU27), the jobless rate was 6.9%, 0.2 percentage points down on a monthly basis and 0.7 percentage points lower than in July 2020.

Equities in Europe traded higher in the premarket on Wednesday as Germany, the Eurozone, and the United Kingdom were all to reveal their latest results in the manufacturing sector. Britain will also publish its newest report on housing prices, Germany on retail sales, and the European Union on its unemployment rate.

70% of EU adults fully vaccinated
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said on Tuesday that 70% of all adults in the European Union have received all needed doses of a coronavirus vaccine.
"70% of adults in the EU are now fully vaccinated," Von der Leyen stated. "But the pandemic is not over and we must remain vigilant," she added.
Von der Leyen stressed that "many more Europeans" need to be vaccinated soon in order to avoid a new wave of infections and prevent the emergence of new variants.
