For 20 years, located in the mountains of Costa Rica, The Monteverde Butterfly Gardens have helped people develop tolerance and understanding towards the many insects and arachnids that live on the same planet as us. Over the course of ten weeks, volunteers from around the world are trained to guide people through butterfly habitats, a colony of leaf-cutting ants, and a collection of living invertebrates from Costa Rica. Program participants also work on site maintenance, butterfly breeding, and tour development.
