Monday – A quiet start to the week in Asia with little on the calendar to inspire traders and a tepid finish to the week in the US. Later in the day, the US has tier 1 numbers in the form of the Empire State Manufacturing Index.
Tuesday – More action on the data calendar on Tuesday with the Australian market seeing the release of the RBA's meeting minutes after the surprise hike. The London session sees the latest job data out of the UK and the North American session brings us CPI numbers in Canada and US Retail Sales data.
Wednesday – The Asian session kicks off with the Wage Price Index number out of Australia and then moves to Japan for the Industrial Production data. The European Days focus once again moves to the UK with BOE Governor Bailey speaking to the British Chamber of Commerce and it's a quiet one in terms of date in the US time zone.
Thursday – The focus is once again on Australia at the start of the Asian trading session with the latest employment data being released- investors once again looking to see how resilient the Australian job market remains. There are several bank holidays in the Eurozone so expect some reduced liquidity. In the US session we have the release of the weekly unemployment claims data followed by the latest update from the Bank of Canada Governor Macklem.
Friday – Looks set to be a quieter day in terms of scheduled release with very little to trouble the scorers in both the Asian and European sessions. However, as usual, the North American session is always capable of throwing us a few curve balls to close out the week, we have the release of the latest Retail Sales numbers in Canada, and Fed Chair Jerome Powell is set to speak in Washington DC later in the day.
