Canada to Prosecute MOON CRIMES

Canadian legislators have amended the Criminal Code allowing for the prosecution of crimes committed on the Moon. The ‘reform’ was a part of the recently passed budget implementation bill.

Previously, Canada had explicit jurisdiction over its lawbreaker-astronauts in Earth’s orbit as well as inside the ISS via a string of national and international regulations.

Finally, someone’s bringing law and order to where it’s most needed.

Sweden to Bypass Referendum on NATO - Citizens will not be given a choice

Stockholm will not hold a public vote on joining the military alliance, if parliament approves the measure. Swedish PM Magdalena Andersson said it would be a "bad idea" to have a referendum.

“I don’t think it is an issue that is suitable for a referendum,” the Swedish leader told reporters, implying that Parliament’s support was sufficient. “There is a lot of information about national security that is confidential, so there are important issues in such a referendum that cannot be discussed and important facts that cannot be put on the table,” she explained.

A majority of Parliament is reportedly backing NATO membership, while Andersson’s own party, the Social Democrats, is considered the primary obstacle to Stockholm signing on to the 30-country alliance.

Sweden and Finland are planning to simultaneously submit membership applications to NATO in mid-May, local media have reported, citing government sources.

AZ Vaccine Sales Beat Estimates - Vax Giant now turns to antibody treatment

AstraZeneca's beaten expectations recording $1.15BN sales for Q1 - largely boosted by its Covid-19 vaccine. The number eclipsed projections made by Credit Suisse, as China accounted for around 16% of sales in 2021.

Its jab was AZ's second-best selling product in 2021 too, but a dip is expected across this year. Instead, the Anglo-Swedish firm is turning attention to its antibody coronavirus treatment called Evusheld.

The vaccine developed alongside Oxford Univ. is predicted to see a massive dip in sales, due to competition, concerns about its shelf life and side effects linked to blood clots.

The drugmaker says it is confident it will maintain revenue forecasts for the coming year, despite shares falling for a number of its products.
