I’m curious if there is legal standing under the third amendment for people displaced by the US interstate system, as it was originally intended for military use.

Probably not since soldiers don’t sleep on roads, but it would make an interesting precedent. As far as I can tell it’s only ever applied to soldiers literally being housed where they shouldn’t be.
