Teachers, do you have a favourite action rhyme? Let's share!
Rhymes can be found in books or on the Internet. Add some actions to the rhymes so that your students have something to do while they learn the words. Choose actions for just the important words in the rhyme. Actions will help children to remember the words.
When you learn the rhyme together:
Tell your Ss to copy the actions. (Copy me.) Next, they join in with some words. (Copy me and say these words: ...) Then, Ss join in with all the words. (Let's do it together.) Ss do it alone. (Now you do it.)
